I never took writing classes. I always loved the theatre. I wanted to be a movie star so I guess writing plays/screenplays is a natural gift. When my first play was produced -to sold-out audiences, I couldn't believe that without any experience/training I'd written something that people were enjoying. It's a great feeling.
Hey Larry, that's great news. Congrats on the play. Are you comfortable letting the forum know what play you wrote? If not, PM me. Great that you are having success. Some people don't need classes, but those success stories are typically bred from intense readers who deeply understand the key elements needed for great storytelling without knowing technical jargon, structural terms, etc.
And you might add that those kind of success stories are incredibly rare.
Thanks, folks. I'm on a Caribbean island so you'll not be familiar with my work.
If you have a passion for writing, you can write anything.
