    Festival Name Idea Plz

I need an idea for the name of a festival celebrated world-wide for the changing of the seasons. I'm open to languages other than English as well.

    Thoughts?

lol! I didn't even think of that Frank, it does sound like the next 'big drug name' hahaha

And all I was thinking about was my series of paintings on the Solstice and the Equinox - lol

And, yeah... I can see how it sounds like a drug but they take the best names anyway. ^.^

    Festival Name

I am not sure I like your parameters or lack there of.

In NZ we have four seasons each year.
I believe other places do the same thing, could be just copy cat, I am not sure, it is like a convention. Conventional. Conventrical [if your heart is in it?].

But the seasons are different, hemisphere. Hemisphesticals. Hemisletteral.
I believe it is a communist conspiracy by the capitalists to take over the world. Polstice. North Polistices. South Polinasterus.

The inventive words are limitless, but then when writers block hits you, it can hit you bad. When I started this reply, I was sure I couldn't think of a word that might help you. I have out done myself, according to my own expectations.

Christmas, Easter are worldwide festivals that we all celebrate, or not, on the same day. Take Christmas tho, it is during our high summer, in the northern hemisphere it occurs in the middle of winter. So we end up sending Christmas cards with snowmen on which is rather silly. Just what you get used to I guess.

What I am trying to say, is that your universal festival of season change may be hard to justify internationally with the different weather thru out our world. Of course if you are sci fi, then your world may not have a moon to cause tides and the earth of your world may have a perfectly circular orbit of its sun and there for not have hot and cold differences as we do.

Just some help and thorts. I hope there is something there you can use.
BTW, I was going to make several other language suggestions but then I don't know any, sort of scotched that idea right at the outset!

    Re: Festival Name

I think you have missed the point ( or rather two points)

    1. Its a name
    2. regardless if it's Summer or Winter Solstice or Autumn or Spring Equinox, the dates are the same worldwide.
In fact, having a festival that depicts the change of seasons, on the same day, around the world, whether dark or light, is much more universal than having Summer/Winter Christmas festivities where the 'heat of Wummer' sees NZ people sending snow pictured Christmas cards.

I'm from Australia, just in case you didn't know so I'm not talking through my .......... well you know what.

But again, ITS A NAME (is all)
