    Vanity Publisher's response

This is a rather polite letter to MY rejection of a Vanity Publishing company.

But look how they make it sound. If I did not know better now, I would still think they are a good deal.

    Dear Dr. Grosse:

Thank you for your e-mail. Please keep us in mind. Many author stick with us as their publisher for life because they want higher earnings and total control of the content of the book. Most importantly - they want the book published. There are less and less trade publishers that will work with first time authors, and practically none of them will work with non-agented authors. That's why we exist.

    Sincerely,

Yeah, that line Jena quoted is pure bovine excrement. (And it should be "fewer and fewer." )

You beat me to it, Frank. I was just about to post this (may as well, anyway):

    http://grammar.quickanddirtytips.com...sus-fewer.aspx

And did they actually write "Many author," or was that a typo on your part, Sabina?

(Edited to put a cap on "Many.")

Damn it! Now I'm going to sound like Ol' Cur, but I didn't add a winking smiley (above)! I merely put a ) at the end. This has happened before several times, but I just ignored it. Bummer! Gotta remember to put a space before the last parenthesis from now on. Who designed this idiotic thing, anyway, huh?

    *more grumbling*

Is that cow taking a massive leak? Is that where it comes out? :

Oh wait, no, that's its tail.

Look under the tail. You'll find Sabina's response from the publisher.

Nope, I noticed the typo, I was looking for more, but then got pressed for time and just copied and posted it to you all.

They make it sound so believable. There should be a law against such blatant lying. :X

Just curious, Sabina. Can you give us the name of this outfit? Or, at least, maybe the first initial?
