how come there's no poetry genre/category?

not just poems dudes, songs! lyrcists almost always remain anonymous behind singer names, but they rock man, they are the real hearts & souls of music (aside from the composer of course).

Poetry is a hard-sell and it’s not only because most 'poets' are actually shyte - it is also because publishers DON'T publish poetry.

And, for me at least, seeing a poorly written poem is much worse than seeing a poorly written chapter. Why? Because I can have hope that other chapters will be better but with a poem; well there is no room for the author to catch my interest if s/he fails to do so within the first two lines.

Also, note to all up and coming poets -
Rhythm IS NOT writing CAT, SAT, MAT, HAT……….

As for music, this is WriterNet - there are plenty of music/lyric sites.

Ask Victoria for a poetry forum if you want it. We've got lots of empty stalls. Maybe she'll replace one of them with poetry and you can post poems.

I'm sure omitting a Poetry/Lyrics forum was just an oversight and Victoria will remedy that.

The last thing anybody wants is a horde of pissed-off poets. Being lashed with flowers isn't as much fun as it might sound.
