    Query Resources

You've finished your novel, now all you need is an agent.

Research potential agents/agencies in Preditors & Editors first, to avoid scams.

Need help creating the query letter?

Miss Snark's blog is no longer updated, but this combination of humor and query guidance continues to be a good resource for writers.

Finally, check out Query Shark's blog for examples and guidelines, and then post your query in this forum for advice, support and critique.

Need some examples? Check out these examples of successful query letters:

Cool! It's great to finally have stickies here.

Here are some more. To search for legit agents, try these sites:

    http://www.agentquery.com

    http://querytracker.net

Just thought I'd add to the list.

Then there's Absolute Write's Bewares, Recommendations, and Background Check. There's a thread for just about every agency in the business, along with participation by Victoria Strauss of Writer Beware and David L. Kuzminski of Predators and Editors., among other big names in the business. AW's Ask the Agent forum is useful, with agents dropping in regularly for Q&As.

Chuck Sambuchino's blog Guide to Literary Agents. He has regular guest agents that give details about their preferences.

    Thank you Victoria!

That Non-Fiction example is like a God-send. Exactly what I needed.
