    Regarding the Power of Suggestion

Hello. I'm a new face here. Somewhat. I've always been interested in James Joyce and wish to try what he calls the power of suggestion, that is to say, the ambiguity of words leading to different interpretations. Here is an excerpt from my short story, Sweet Little Angels. Please tell me what you think of it. Thanks!

Stiffbodied so erectstood the cockalert upon a pole highard, his neck craned skyward beak heavenward wattle ahanging from his head. With a twitch then a throb he spewed from his throat the essence of his throat; with a cock then a crow, he heard the reply of the echo unto his call: uhrkh! aowhnghuhrkh! And when no one replied to his call, when the world remained dark and scary and soberly silent, the rooster clucked a scared phaunghk? then limp his head bent low he descended, hiding back into his own private world.

To mean two things you can only hint at one. I like how you've put this, but you haven't gone off on a light tangent to bring the reader back from losing his marbles.

I'm interested in this, James Joyce............. gonna look him up now!

Not another epic song about death!
