    Cathy, thanks so much for locating that blog post for me. You're right, it is worth reading. Janice, thanks a TON for explaining to me how to search these threads on a specific term -- that's what I tried to do before starting this thread and for some reason did it wrong. Once I followed your instructions, I found some useful information (one thread in particular, from last December). All in all, I'm getting the impression that lulu.com is indeed pretty much what it looks like and there are no great secrets about it -- it's just a matter of deciding whether self-publishing is the route I want to go or not. For now, I'll wait until I hear back from all the agents who have my partials and then reconsider. Thanks everyone.
