Re: Devolution (a story of poems)

What's with the third person, Blue?

Okay, I met some people like you when my wife was a social worker, so good luck with that battle of credibility and everything.

    Mutt,

I don't believe God snapped his fingers. I believe He spoke, and it happened. Also, I don't believe He created the universe in its present state. I believe it and we were perfect at first, then sin caused everything to deteriorate to what it is today.

Oh yes, spoke, that's so much more logical. Did he say "Abracadabra!" or "Presto change-o!"? But then since there was no audience to watch I suppose any showmanship would go to waste. Maybe it wasn't words so much as just a nasty belch--I've probably created a few universes after drinking a six-pack.

You can read exactly what He said in the book of Genesis and what happened when He said it. Speaking things into existence is precisely the kind of thing I'd expect from an omnipotent God.

Yes, if you believe everything in books is real.

I believe everything in the Bible is real, but not books in general.

Ah yes, the great Grimey has to try and weasel in the last word. Classic.
