    I agree with C Bets -- no letter goes out (or should go out)without the lawyer's approval; and the lawyer no doubt drafted it.

    And there's nothing brief about a typical lawyer's briefs. (take that as you will).

    I very seriously doubt that the lawyer drafted this "short note" to tech support on a piece of software that only the secretary used.

    I was being facetious, although my one of the lawyers I worked for DID tend to go on ... and on ... and on ...

    I'm telling you, Joe - legal briefs are anything but.
