I sort of agree with you, Rozinante. But 'based on actual events' is what I write. Maybe some people do build an enormous superstructure onto a single event, but not all. I know I've been very careful in my book to make sure that all the events occurred and in the order written in the book. But I'm still getting it published as creative non-fiction - the publisher finally decided on that one.

In all honestly, the whole thing is just too muddy anyway. Probably it's best to just write the damned stuff and let someone else go through all the headaches of categorizing it.
