I'm not Brady (yet) but I've seen both styles here at WN. Some writers swear by the idea of having their manuscript professionally edited before they shop it around, others are like me and rely on their own skills. I guess it's up to the individual.

Re: Fred
I agree with MT. My belief is that if you're unpublished, editing it yourself is good practice. Established authors can afford to have their work edited so they can get on with their next book.

Trying...to...open...tools...AAAAHHHHHH!
We interupt this post to bring you the following breaking news.
A Salem, Oregon man was swallowed by his PC this evening in what experts are calling a case of user abuse. Apparently the man attempted to remove the edit feature from the program when he got sucked into the cooling fan. He was taken by Life Flight to Portland's Emmanuelle Hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable , condition. We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast....
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Re: that, which, who
There is not much distinction between that and which. 'That' is most often used to introduce esential information and 'which' introduces additional information. 'Which' clauses are set in commas while 'that' clauses are not.
The suit that must be taken to the cleaners is hanging in the closet.
The suit, which is in the closet, must be taken to the cleaners.
'Who' refers to a person. He is the man who led the parade. It should not be written as: He is the man that led the parade.

Re: that, which, who
Kaz is correct.
And succinct, too.
