detective story in modern Egypt

Could any one advise me ? I wrote a detective story taking place in modern Egypt, it is meant as the first of a series, I'm working on the second. I thought of begining with The Poisoned Pen press, it seems to be their line, what do you say ?

It's a good small publisher with a well-established audience. But they're not sold in some of the bigger bookstore chains. You might also try Berkley Prime Crime, which has a wider market base. Still, either is fine, and if the tone fits Poisoned Pen, give them a try! :)

Thank you Cathy, I'll try that too. I visited their website, seems a huge business, but I can't find anything related to submissions on line. I fear that they might not deal with writers directly, would you know how to find out who are their agents ? Bit of a jungle, is it not ?

Soho Press in NYC loves modern police procedures set in exotic places. www.sohopress.com

Editors are Katie Herman, Laura Hruska. Juris Jurjevics is the publisher.

I've seen contracts like that. My biggest problem is convincing authors not to sign them. Some are so desperate to get into print that they'll sign anything. See Worst Contract thread under Published Authors forum and see what other authors have to say.

Oops, another senior moment. This belongs on another forum.
