Can't help you out with that, Wonky. But it sounds like you're sick of ham.
Maybe you could ask our "friend" Google:

You're having Beefaroni. It's made from rotten baloney. It really is a tasty treat. It smells like your old dirty feet. It makes you vomit in the street. Hooray. Whee. For Chef Boy-Ar-Dee.
There. A tolerable lunch AND a blast back to your misbegotten childhood. What could be better? *G*

That grilled cheese sandwich does sound pretty good...but I'd add broccoli & cheese soup (no such thing as too much cheese...at least until the colon mentions something to you ;))
Eithher that or a Potbelly's Chicken Salad Salad (with croutons and cranberries adn Ranch, if you're a Ranchite like me :)

Artichoke dip, Chili con Queso, (with pretzel crackers and nacho chips) dark dark choclate brownies with nuts and powdered sugar, watermelon, choc chip cookies and there's a choc silk pie here someplace. I could eat the con Queso with a spoon sans chips.
That's what I'm having (had) anyway. I will warn you its not conducive to having a 'peppy' afternoon. But I've had like 4 whole carbs all week so....
I'm a Ranch freak too. Nothing else will do on a salad. I love the freshly prepared kind but will settle for Seven Seas Ranch. Everything else (even the Ranch brand of bottled dressing) tastes like preservatives.

Any restaurant with bread and cheese on the menu can serve grilled cheese even if it's not listed on the menu. Then again, you are in Japan. I suppose grilled cheese sandwiches are an American phenom.
Hope you enjoyed your chicken.

When I was a kid, on the mornings my mom had to work my dad would make my brother and me fried egg and spam sandwiches. Yeah, they were about about as grim as they sound.

Can't be as awful as cheese and tomatoes, Gravity.
But, the weirdo I am, I'll eat damn anything...my strangest being sweet pickles and peanut butter. Yummy!

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam...
Seriously, Turkish is one of my all-time faves. Something about that whole region just gets me! Romanian food, old-style Persian food....I don't care much for Greek, though.

When I was in high school I worked in McDonald's. If someone wanted that, it was basically a cheeseburger with no meat. But you had to pay the same price as a regular cheeseburger.

Ham sushi?
There is such a thing. Remember, the word sushi refers to the rice, it doesn't mean raw fish.

I bet it's pretty tasty, too! I love experimenting with different ingredients in nori rolls, usually add various veggies, rice (or noodles), and ume paste, but now that I'm a recovering vegetarian, I should try making them with meat. Do you like natto, by the way? I LOVE it, especially in sushi! Hard to find good quality natto over here.

Hi Liza. I am thinking of going to a kaiten-sushi place for lunch. That's where all the sushi goes around on a conveyor belt and you take what you want.
I tried natto once but I really didn't like it...it was like a really strong cheese.
As for unusual sushi, some places do have meat ones. There's that ham (it's prosciutto actually), kalbi (beef rib meat), I've seen little hamburgers and mini-hot dogs, fried shrimp, duck pastrami...fancy places might have minke whale (no, I did not try it.)

Yeah, I didn't like natto at first, either. It is a weird food. I finally tried a recipe with natto, chopped scallions and mustard, and then became addicted. Delicious in sushi - with wasabi and soy sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I grew up eating at Potbelly's on Lincoln Avenue!! Haven't thought of them in years. I loved their toasted veggie sub, no mushrooms.
Love me a wasabi peanut. What's natto?

Those damn Japanese, ignoring the international treaty on Kiwi hunting again!
There's a Chinese saying I heard when I was in Taiwan. If it doesn't have wheels, and moves, the Chinese will eat it. The Japanese seem to draw the line at insects though.

Fish farms don't bother me but I don't eat too much maguro due to the overfishing issue.
