Searching for literary agent, but may self-publish after the first of the year. Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.

First figure out what you're going to do after it's printed--and take off the "I assume and I hope" rosy glasses while you are doing that. Getting a book printed isn't even close to the hardest part of getting it sold/read.
