Hey everyone, I saw some people talking about writing for the newer area of creating ebooks. I have been writing ebooks and my most recent one is about my hobby glass etching seen at http://www.glassetchingsecrets.com . I have found alot of oppurtunity here and is a cool and profitable way to go. Your customers get the information right away after purchasing and is the most profitable.
Its hard to get established on the internet and I was willing to partner up with writers. You might have heard this before and through experience I know its true which is- you don't have to write something absolutely perfect and just has to provide great information. Thats what the internet users want. I think its more of "how to do" topics more than anything. For fiction books, you need to establish yourself as a great writer more (if you do get lots of publicity this way you will be most likely more profitable). So "how to" information is best and you can just write about your hobby and how to help people save money with it like I have for my ebook here http://www.glassetchingsecrets.com/info.html .
Whats cool about this is you can write lots of great information on your computer quickly, send it to me and have me market it. That combines the creative part from your writing with the creative part of my marketing. Its been fun and exciting for me so far. If anyones interested, just let me know.
I am a very approachable guy and am willing to give you my opinion of your ideas. Just leave a comment or send me an email.
Thanks
-Eric

I'd like to buy a comma and two apostrophes.
Best,
Janice

Janice,
I may be able to help you out.
Not long ago I read that a serious case of ennui was about the bring the apostrophe factory to a grinding halt. I backed up a truck and loaded up.
I can let you have a case of apostrophes for two bottles of Bombay Sapphire. I'll even throw in a package of commas.

I'll pitch in an adjective and a subjunctive clause.

Cur,
Sorry, no can do. I'm an ex-bartender. Heavy on the ex. The strongest liquid in my cabinets nowadays is a two-liter 7-UP. I occasionally splurge and buy a Pepsi, if I'm in need of a jolt of caffeine to ward off a migraine. Can I swap you a peach crate overflowing with semi-colons? I never know what to do with the damn things. Some days I spend all morning putting them to the right of a scantily-clad noun and the afternoon moving them to the left of a hefty adjective. (*You in the back waving your hand, stop butting in. Oscar who? Plagiarism? Of course not. Sit down and shut up.*)
Sorry about that, Cur. Do we have a deal? I'll even throw in the peach crate. They make nifty bookcases if you're into the retro college dropout scene. Flip 'em on end and you've got a nifty nightstand, or a sturdy chair if unexpected company drops in. On second thought, I'll keep the crate. The semi-colons should fit into a mss. mailer box. Wear gloves when you open it up. Those sneaky semi-colons latch onto the first thing they see and they've been known to draw blood.
Oh, excuse me, Sam. I didn't mean to keep you waiting. Is that a tux you're wearing? Fancy clothes to match your fancy words. I'm a tee-shirt and jeans kind of gal most of the time. I bet some of the other ladies here would love to go dancing with you. Subjunctive's just a modern twist to the jitterbug, with a dash of tango thrown in, right?
Good grief, look at the time. If I leave now, I should make it to the post office before they close. It's a small town. The only places open late around here are Wal-mart and the hospital.
Janice ... who's overdue for a nap ...

Fa 'crissake, Janice.
I didn't suggest you imbibe the Bombay. My offer was you send it to me.
But, what the hell, this dank ol' cave is warm tonight, owing to Mrs. Cur building a helluva big far. I'll go ahead and send the case of apostrophes and a box of commas.
Don't, as in DO NOT even think about sending me any semi-colons. At my age, the thought of a semi-colon gives me the shivers. What I'm sayin'.
Sam---I dunno if this'd be a trade that will interest you. I don't need a subjunctive clause. Had one once. Sum***** rose up and put near strangled me. But I can send you a case of commas if you have two cases of adverbs to spare. I allays need adverbs. Spice of life, they are. (BTW, welcome back. Good to "see" you.)
Anyone---I really need a spare colon. Janice's offer of semi-colons got me worried. More I thought about it, it would be real nice to have a colon in inventory. Case the day comes when I need it.

When I think of semi-colons, I think of constipation. :D

An editor told me she wanted to cut my dangling modifier once. Once. (Anyone see Johnny Dangerously?)

"Anyone---I really need a spare colon."
Would you settle for a kidney transplant?

Leslee,
Good one!
I already have a spare kidney in the freezer. Lookin' for a colon in case the one I'm using now goes south, so to speak.

I'm rather confused about everyone's responses to my post and the question of why post it here?

Frank, haha yep thats true. Sorry I wasn't directing that at you personally, but the overall discussion. By the way, I checked out your website. Have you ever thought about self publishing a ebook? If your interested, let me know. I will show and tell you how to do it. Its fairly easy.
All the best,

No thanks. If and when I publish another book it'll be via a 3D publisher.

Has everyone had bad experiences with self publishing on this forum or something via ebook? There have been alot of people that do this and are great success. But its really all up to you. By the way, I wasn't requesting for me to publish your information, but was seeing if you were interested in how to do it yourself very easily since this is a discussion forum to help each other. I already realized that there isn't anyone serious here about partnerships after seeing the goofing.
Well, let me know what everyone's bad experiences were. Thanks
Take care,
-Eric

No bad experience here. I've never attempted to self-publish. I'm not against it but I prefer that someone else, whose business it is to put books in bookstores, do that part of the work for me.
As to e-publishing. Again, not against it. I know of writers who are making a half-assed buck at it. It's all but certain that e-publishing, in various formats, will become increasingly popular. But again, in that instance, I'd prefer to go with a company with an established track record.
Good luck to you.
