Epiphany! Sc/Fi Co Writer wanted!

Bear in mind it's 3.30am GMT and there are empty beer cans on the floor.

I have had a truly wicked idea for a SciFi Novel/Screenplay.

It plots the birth of new type of life and the downfall of ours. I don't think that there is any credible way we can survive.

I think the plot is very credible, you need to be a computer genious to pick a hole in it.

As far as I know every scientific theory of evolution is based on two things getting together. Two atoms, two elements, two molecules, whatever.

If you understand commuications, particularly an aspect of TCP/IP your the person I'm looking for. The threat to human existence has been building for years.

If you have any idea where I am going with this, then you are most definitely the right person for the job.

What you're describing is ghostwriting, not collaboration.

The problem with telling your idea to a professional writer and expecting the writer to ghostwrite a novel is that there's no guarantee it will sell.

Most pro writers would expect one half of their ghosting payment upfront, and the remainder on completion of the ms.

I wouldn't tackle a project like this unless I knew I'd be paid the same amount as my standard advance. Not that I've ever done any ghostwriting.

Just a cautionary note.

Anne, thanks for posting. I am a little further down the food chain from you. I am still in the art stage of my writing. I believe I am developing my own style which is influenced by everything I don't like about modern film and writing. The last film to scare me and give me nightmares was 'The Birds' (Alfred Hitchcock), because I was very young and I believed it could happen. 'War of the Worlds' and 'Day of the Triffids' were also great works. Yes, I am starry eyed but because I believe my idea could be that great, if written by the right person people would be afraid of their own computers and the IT consultant at work could not tell them, that it's not possible. I'll write it one day, when I am a little more skilled and more commercially minded.

I think I was looking for someone who was skilled but devoid of imigination and ideas.

Yeah, you're probably not going to find people like that on this board.
