Query Help

Author: Stephanie Attwater

Hi guys!

I'm wondering if you can help me with my query letter:

The last thing I remember is taking the shortcut through the park on my way to work. When I try to think past that, the tape bubbles and breaks in my mind and all I can taste is burning.

I woke in the woods, injured, disoriented, with three large men surrounding me. I was sure I was going to die. But despite the fact that I can’t understand a word they say, Darrain and his friends are being very kind to me. They are doing everything they can to protect me and help me get back home. But I’m afraid it won’t be enough. Wild boars and absent cell phone signal aside, I’m pretty sure I am very, very far from home.

And, as if that weren’t enough, I am being hunted. Hunted. Me. Just a nobody little girl from Minnesota. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to hurt me, but my still-healing bruises and vague flashes of terrifying memories tell me that they do.

If I can just figure out what happened to me before they find me, maybe I can still get back home…

On the Edge of Nowhere is a story about enduring when everything you love is far away and you’re alone and frightened and can’t imagine that anything will ever be right again. It is a young adult fantasy novel and is complete at 115,000 words.

I hope that you enjoy the first ten pages of the story. I would be happy to send you the complete manuscript.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

This must be your 1st attempt, the errors are to many to count.

You should go to the forum on Lit. Agents, which is where Q letters are usually posted. You will find much info there.

Hahahaha! It really was!

I've made a second attempt that's hopefully better. I'll post it in Lit. Agents though. Thanks Robert!
