Has anyone out there had any dealings with Gatto? I have come across their name in the Duotrope listings for novel length works and would welcome some first-hand feedback at this stage.
Thank you.

Apologies in advance if this is not what you're looking for.
The first place you should always go when looking to see if a publisher, agent, or other service peddled to writers is legit is to a website called Preditors & Editors'. They are the gold standard for this information, and if they warn or caution you about something or someone, run like hell.
That being said, there is no listing on P&E for Gatto, so I'd take that as neutral at best. I made a quick visit to Gatto's website, and they appear to be primarily an e-book publisher, with "selected titles" available in print. I will say they do seem to have an educated and eclectic bunch of authors who have published with them.
If I were you, I'd maybe visit the websites of a few of those authors and drop them an e-mail asking what their experience has been with Gatto. I suspect more than one of them will take the time to give you the pros and cons that they've experienced, and maybe help with your expectations. And if you don't hear back from them, well that might tell you a little something as well. Best of luck!

Gatto is a very BIG and OLD publishing house. Them NOT being on predators and Editors tells you something about That site (P+E) and not Gatto.

Gatto is a very BIG and OLD publishing house.
Care to enlighten us? You'd think with such a long and distinguished history, they'd put SOMETHING about it on their web page.
Google returns just 282 hits for "Gatto Publishing."
I can find nothing published by them prior to 2004.
I can find nothing published by them on Amazon.Com (although there is a single work published by them available for sale on Amazon.Fr.)
Sincerely curious. Thanks!

'Care to enlighten us? You'd think with such a long and distinguished history, they'd put SOMETHING about it on their web page.'
Lol - one minute you guys slag the Ebook industry off and the internet as being irrelevant and the you expect that every snippet of information on everything (to make you look clever) is available.
Your rubbish people on the whole to be honest.
DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH ffs ...!
Since when have writers or publishers worked together as a bloody team eneterprise. This market is about for gods sake when are freaks going to wake up to that.
Stop living in the 'OO I got my book published' compete with the neighbours world of romancing the holes. Understand the truth that 90% of all people that tell you that they are writing a book will never write a book.
Gatto is a good publishing house and just because some of the freaks that come on here have never heard of it - IT MEANS SQUAT....!
Research is part of your JOB ... RESEARCH means finding out for your god damn selves what the score is. If your listenning to other people every two minutes then you aint doing your research... FACT ....!
So RING THEM UP and ask the a few ... to the original poster...!
To the guy that suggested that if its anything it has to be on that website ... The fact that Gatto isnt there tells me that being there ISNT where its at.
And the guy that asks to elucidate in regards to supplying information for him.her to use without doing any work ... NONE of us here are YOUR faggots you are ours, so get some bloody work done.
NEXT ....!
regards
jules

Thanks to all who chipped with info and comments.
Even to Jules who clearly has a chip a mile wide on his shoulder about something. I suppose he was born knowing all the answers. Others have to start somewhere as we go along. I just wonder why he has has to be rude for no apparent reason.
Regards to all.

Even to Jules who clearly has a chip a mile wide on his shoulder about something.
It looks like he is trying to get an e-book publisher of his own off the ground, and on a shoestring budget to boot.
A visit to his appropriately named and horrifically laid out website are accompanied by yet another appropriate metaphor - the sound of crickets chirping.
And just so Google has a better chance of finding this thread should an author inexplicably investigate publishing something with him:

Jules, you deep thinker, you hypnotic raconteur.
You boast that you're starting an epub business.
I suspect it's unlikely you could start a fire with a blow torch and an ocean of gasoline.
But hang in there. You've scored lots of solid contacts and admirers here. Fa' crissake, stay with what's working for you so far.
