Hi I'm Laura, I've actually had this account set up for a while, but I never utilized it... Silly me.
I currently have a YA (16+)WIP; I'm about 20,000 words in and would like to have it finished at at about 60-65K words, perhaps more, because I know when it comes time to revise, I'll add, delete, and make up some more new words.
My YA novel is geared more to the older kids, definitely not middle grade. I currently have one person who is critting my work and she's wonderful (she actually told me about this site); she's a wonderful published author who also writes YA; however, I know I should probably have a few more crit partners to help with aspects that I know I'm missing. She's busy revising her third book (which I'm critting as well).
I'm really excited about my story, I started it in September of last year, put it away, but I'm gung ho to get it finished and hopefully out to agents, editors, whoever!
I've been looking at this site for a while and thought I'd finally de-lurk and ask for help.
I also heard that some can be brutal, but THAT is what I'm looking for. I want brutal so I can be a better author! I'm honest, accept constructive criticism, and will listen to anyone's thoughts as well.
So, if you're interested in a decent albeit not quite finished YA book, let me know.

Hello, Laura.
I'm just new to this forum as well. Pleasure to meet you.
It looks most interesting, and I think I will be spending a fair bit of time here.
Take care, and good luck with your book. :o)

I am also very new. It’s nice to see I'm not the only one! I also have something written out- a children’s book that I am looking to publish. Hopefully this site can help both of us.
