The Children's Literary Agency

Author: Cynthia R

Hi,
I am new to all of this. I am trying to get an agent like all of you. I have been looking for agents at agentquery.com but I found a agent on this site by the little ads that pop up which is The Children's Literary Agency. I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of them and if they are legit or not. Here is a link to their site. http://www.childrensliteraryagency.com/index.html
Thanks,
Cynthia

NO! Don't do it!

June is right

They are NOT repeat NOT legitimate.

Be suspicious of any agency that advertises for clients.

Use these sites to verify that an agent is legit:

Simon, I had never seen that second link before, so I tried it. The two agents I put in and one publisher they said they had no record of. All three I found at agentquery.com and the two agents were ok with P&E, though P& E didn't have Global Literary Management listed either. One of the agents works for Global and I googled Global and found nothing bad. What do you think about a situation like that? Should I still query that agent? Sorry, Cynthia, to interrupt your thread.

June -

No site is totally comprehensive - there's lots of agents out there and it's possible they don't all wind up in any given database. To my knowledge agentquery does vet the agents it lists.

Looks like Global is a brand spanking new agency - only been in business since Feb 2005 - which is probably why the other sites don't have them listed. The agency is new - but the agent isn't - so I'd go ahead and query them.

Thanks for answering me. I now know to stay away from them.
Thanks again,
Cynthia
