The Los Angeles-based magazine I'd been writing for for the last three years recently closed its doors, after a trainwreck of mismanagement finally took its toll on the poor little pub (which was actually regarded as quite "cool" by industry folks). I was made L.A. city editor a couple years back and have amassed quite a number of creditable articles, but am wondering where to go from here? The things is, I didn't care much for the type of things I was writing about--would rather stick with folks who enjoy honesty (not advertorials!) and derisive pithiness. Where to go now? Been lumbering around the Internet, searching for freelance gigs that look fitting but am hitting the wall hard.
Should I start by looking up agents? I have a half-done book of memoirs (I know, I know) and an almost-complete romance novel underway. Looking for advice but not quite knowing my question...
Sheepishly,
Anna
