My second novel is now officially on submission, and I am wondering if others have had experiences going back to editors a second time with a new project. Since there were a number of editors who liked my first book enough to ask to see the second one, we are submitting to them, as well as to some others. I feel like I will get "bounce" with on the second round-- that the editors will see it as a plus that I actually finished a second novel (I'm certain that #2 is more technically accomplished) Am I right that editors might be slightly more receptive to a writer who keeps on plugging, or is this not necessarily so?
I think editors and agents alike are more interested in writers who are in it for the long-haul than in writers who only want to write one book.

Editors have long memories, particularly when it comes to a one who shows promise. So, yes, if you got a favorable rejection -- one that was actually signed by the editor, or was scribbled on your cover letter, be sure that editor sees your next project if it is at all in the area he or she handles.
