Hi -
I want only to address what I have experienced the past
few times that I accessed the discussion forum.
It seems that the majority of all posts are personally
directed - venomously, at that - by, and at individuals
and not addressing the issues at hand; the topic, topic,
topic!
I really felt that I would have an opportunity to glean
professional, empathetic advice on subjects that were
posted as questions by others.
Instead, after perhaps one serious response, a diatribe
of personal attacks begins. WOW! Maybe ther's a story
for an article here, so I'll follow it.
My advice, given at the risk of being "attacked" by
shadowy pseudonym posters, is, "DON'T RESPOND to any
offensive posts. Like in football, it's always the guy
that retaliates that gets the penalty. Don't be fools
to a fool.
[Now I'll duck].

Amen, Danilo & Hamish! I try to get a little Zen about the barrage of mudslinging and sit on my hands rather than respond. Doesn't always work, but I realize that ignoring it serves a better purpose than responding.

I find all of your comments on redundant mudslingling to be one of truth. We do not need mudslinging. We are writers looking for the how-to's and the what-for's, and personally, I feel a little bit of ignoring the party slingling the mud, makes me feel like I am not a part of the negativities of this evil and dark world. I tend to believe there is a positive and loving side to all of us.
