Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science (majored Biology, minored in Mathematics) from the National University of Singapore in 1993. She went on to achieve her Masters in Business Administration from Henley Management College, UK in 2004.
Karenís experience in publications management began in July 1994, and ranges from conceptualisation, copywriting, copyediting, design and layout, through to printing and distribution of the resulting works. She has worked on various projects in the corporate scene, interior design, tourism (hotels and travels), food and beverage, family life education, information technology, education, and more. She is able to manage each collateral to meet its different objectives (reporting, marketing, publicity, education and instruction), to effectively communicate with its targeted audience.
From her experience in managing copywriters and advising design houses on visual illustrations of written works, her value-add is in content development where textual structuring and graphical presentation of information help facilitate comprehension. Along with her varied personal curiosity and interests, which account for her versatile writing style, she is able to take on an assortment of communications projects.
With a network of writers, ranging from general writers to writers in professional industries, Karen caters to the content development needs of various industries and target audiences. Karen is also a published writer-cum-editor; and serves on the National University of Singapore Societyís Editorial Panel, among several other committees in other organisations.
Karen is fluent with written and spoken English, and competent in spoken Mandarin, Malay, Teochew and Hokkien.
