A small selective agency in Harvard Square, we represent those who we feel to be the most exceptional authors, and the most exceptional manuscripts. Our clients range from first-time writers to international best-sellers, prize winning-journalists to professionals at the top of their fields. Our tastes tend toward literary fiction and topical or narrative non-fiction, with a strong interest in women’s voices, class and race issues, war and its far-reaching psychological alteration of people and nation, and works addressing the meeting of art and science. We are most likely to pick up works that are of significance, newsworthy, or have meaning beyond enjoyable fluff, works that speak to the human condition and the search for a greater truth.

We are currently taking on very little new fiction unless from an established author, and are most actively seeking African-American and Latino works of any kind, biographies, one-subject narrative non-fiction (a là Mark Kurlansky), topical (politics, current affairs), history, sports, science, and pop culture.

Original voices are cherished, as are ideas that may seem beyond the main. Each work that is chosen for possible representation undergoes a review by a panel of readers from varied backgrounds, and decisions on the work are made by consensus. Although we are select in our choices, we do our best to encourage and advise any would-be client or author who contacts us.
